You will use execute all standard work processes on your equipment using AM (autonomous maintenance) and PM (progressive maintenance) standards and ensure that safety processes are observed, and that quality assurance activities are performed. You will bring experience and knowledge in:Operating machines with coachingSafety and quality standards for operating machinesReading and writing, and fluently conversant in the language of communication as appropriate to the siteCollaborating well in a diverse work environmentMore about this roleNature and ScopeØ This position is responsible for the operation of 3 or more of the following machines and their subcomponents: Aqua 1-7; Bosch; Hayssen 6, Treatsize, Theatrebox 1-2, Rovema.Major/Essential ResponsibilitiesØ Checks quality of candy and material prior to packaging operationsØ Perform regular quality checks of candy and materialØ TrainØ Support general packersØ Checks metal detector to confirm that it is functionalØ Sets up and operates Aquarius related sub-machines such as the Schubert, Domino, Markem, Cermex, Nor/Reg. Senzani, Langen, Multi-pond, Nordale, and ButlersØ Checks bags, weights, seal temperature, registration, date code, batch numbers, etc. and record data into Quality SuiteØ Record all troubleshooting and downtime occurrences in Quality SuiteØ Engages in machine start up tasks such a calibrating the scales, changing the program, setting up the film, complete changeover duties, etc.Ø Operates film lifter, feed cartons to machinesØ Using RCA, produces shift efficiency reportØ Using SAP, report all types of waste and re-work sugar, number of machine hours per order, and hours of downtimeØ Conducts both major line cleaning, changeover cleaning, and end of shift cleaningØ Performs safety checks on all machines at start-upØ Maintain cleanliness on the packaging line, specifically jaw and knife cleaningØ Ensure proper supply of materials, including boxes, cartons, labels in according with the BOMØ Responsible to continuously clean the area surrounding the work stationØ Knowledge and understanding of SOP’s and work instructionsØ Understand, participate and support all safety programs, policies and initiatives within the manufacturing locationØ Responsible for ensuring all packaged products meet all GMP and food safety requirementsØ All other duties as assigned by supervisorKnowledge and SkillsØ GMP/Food Safety and HACCP trainingØ Lockout trainingØ WHMISØ Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.Ø Computer literacy is essential and required with specific emphasis on SAP and Quality SuiteØ Numerical literacy is requiredØ Knowledge of and ability to follow specific and key protocols, policies, etc.Ø Some mechanical knowledge, familiarly with terms and plant systems/machinesØ Troubleshooting/problem solving skillsEducationØ High School DiplomaØ Some post-secondary education is an assetExperience / SkillsØ Previous experience as a General Packer is requiredØ Good command of written and oral communication in English is requiredØ Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills are essentialRelationshipsInternal:Ø This position regularly interacts with General Packers, Process Coordinators, Packaging Coordinators, Warehouse Handlers, the Lead Operators, Maintenance, and the Shift SupervisorEffortPhysical Effort:Ø A high level of:o Bendingo Lifting from the floor to the waist, from the floor to the shoulder, and from the waist t
