Job title: Workday Accounting Center Lead - AMS
About the Role The Workday Accounting Center Manager will support the ongoing delivery of Application Managed Services (AMS) for clients leveraging Workday Accounting Center and related Financials modules. This role serves as a functional subject matter expert, providing hands-on leadership for Accounting Center configuration, accounting integrations, reconciliation, and financial reporting in a post-production environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead Accounting Center configuration and maintenance within Workday Financials
- Manage accounting integrations and downstream General Ledger mappings
- Oversee reconciliations and financial reporting for AMS clients
- Partner with clients and internal delivery teams to resolve issues, support enhancements, and manage release impacts
- Ensure compliant, scalable accounting solutions that support downstream processes
- Serve as a functional SME for Accounting Center, including event configuration, journal generation, and reconciliation
- Mentor AMS team members and support knowledge transfer within the organization
What We're Looking For
- 3-5 years experience implementing or supporting Workday Accounting Center within Workday Financials in a production or post-production AMS environment
- Functional SME for Accounting Center: accounting event configuration, journal generation, reconciliation, and downstream GL integration
- Hands-on experience with Workday Prism Analytics (PRISM): data ingestion, modeling, and enabling reporting and analytics
- 3-5 years experience analyzing accounting and business requirements, producing functional specifications, supporting testing activities, troubleshooting complex production issues, and partnering with clients and finance stakeholders
- Strong ability to translate source system transactions and accounting rules into accurate, scalable Accounting Center configurations
- Experience supporting ongoing optimization, enhancements, and issue resolution in an AMS/Managed Services model
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- No travel required unless requested by the client
Nice to Have
- Active Workday Certification (Workday Financial Management or Accounting Center strongly preferred)
- Prior AMS/PPS/Managed Services experience, including Tier 3 support
- Experience designing and supporting accounting integrations from source systems into Workday Accounting Center
- Strong understanding of financial accounting processes (journal posting, reconciliation, close, audit readiness)
- Experience in medium to large-scale Workday Financials environments with cross-module dependencies (GL, AP, AR, Payroll, Projects)
- Strong reporting/PRISM dashboards, reconciliation reporting, and audit support
- Strong Excel proficiency
- Prior team leadership or mentoring experience in an AMS model
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated base salary range: $135,000 - $165,000 (USD)
- Total compensation range (including annual incentive): $162,000 - $198,000 (USD)
