Job Summary
The work study program provides funds for part-time employment to help students finance the costs of postsecondary education. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student’s course of study. The program is designed to provide students with an opportunity for employment arranged around class schedules, while providing essential services to the College and the community.
Essential Functions
- Support Student Life by helping provide fun, organized, and inclusive recreational opportunities for DMACC students.
- Assist with the coordination and facilitation of intramural tournaments and activities, setting up and preparing for events, explaining and enforcing rules, officiating games, tracking scores and results.
- Promote sportsmanship and participant safety, maintain recreation equipment, and support other departments as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a current, full-time DMACC student taking at least 12 credits.
- Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Must demonstrate leadership and communication skills, reliability and professionalism, teamwork and collaboration, adaptability and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to remain fair and impartial when officiating activities.
- Must be comfortable explaining and enforcing rules, making decisions, and interacting with participants of varying skill and experience levels.
- Must have an interest in recreation and a commitment to promoting sportsmanship and a positive experience for all participants.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with intramural or recreational sports, athletics, or officiating.
Work Schedule
20 hours per week. Schedule varies based on the event calendar and student availability.
