About the Role Kier Transportation is hiring Winter Maintenance Drivers to cover unsociable hours on a rota basis including weekends for Bridgwater, Somerset. The role involves driving gritting vehicles to spread salt and keep UK roads moving during the winter months on a fixed-term zero hour contract to April 2027.
What You'll Do
- Drive gritting vehicles to spread salt onto the roads during colder days and nights.
- Work within the Maintenance team, supporting them in key essential works.
- Cover unsociable hours on a rota basis including weekends.
What We're Looking For
- Availability to work flexible days/nights/weekends on a rota.
- Based in or able to work from Bridgwater, Somerset.
- Willingness to be called out and work in weather-dependent conditions.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: £18.04 per hour Monday to Saturday; £23.52 per hour on Sunday and Bank Holidays; plus weekly standby of £238.99.
- Fixed term zero hour contract to April 2027.
