Job title: Winter Maintenance Driver (Fixed Term)
About the Role Winter Maintenance Drivers are being sought to cover unsociable hours on a rota including weekends as part of Kier Transportation in Yeovil. This fixed-term position supports keeping the UK moving during winter by driving gritting vehicles to spread salt and assist the Maintenance team until April 2027.
What You'll Do
- Drive gritting vehicles to spread salt onto the roads during colder days and nights
- Work within the Maintenance team on essential winter works
- Cover unsociable hours on a rota basis including weekends
- Be available for call outs and weather dependent operations
- Join the Transportation team based in Yeovil and contribute to keeping roads moving
What We're Looking For
- Ability to cover unsociable hours on a rota including weekends
- Willingness to drive gritting vehicles to spread salt and support winter maintenance operations
- Flexible days/nights/weekends schedule
- Based in or able to work from Yeovil, Somerset as part of the Maintenance/Transportation team
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: £18.04 per hour (Monday to Saturday) and £23.52 per hour on Sunday and Bank Holidays
- Weekly standby of £238.99
