About the Role Join Wipro as a Wintel Engineer responsible for hands-on hardware and Windows-based infrastructure support. You will diagnose and resolve hardware issues, manage OS performance, and lead clustering, patch management, and automation to keep enterprise Windows environments running smoothly.
What You'll Do
- Provide hands-on diagnosis and resolution for hardware issues (RAID, servers) and Windows OS problems.
- Troubleshoot Windows Server issues: Blue Screen errors, performance problems, permissions, recovery, and ensure Windows Clusters operate reliably.
- Manage patching with WSUS and SCCM; plan patch deployment for large numbers of Windows servers.
- Configure and troubleshoot DHCP (scopes, super scopes) and maintain DNS/Network services; manage file share servers and DFS.
- Plan and execute migrations for Windows technologies such as File Server and OS upgrades; handle print servers and KMS servers as needed.
- Knowledge of Radius servers; handle antivirus issues with Trend, Symantec, Forefront; maintain security hygiene.
- Exposure to virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMware, Citrix) including host and guest OS; automate and reduce manual effort via scripting (VBScript, PowerShell).
- Excellent documentation and communication; provide on-site data center support; work with Local & Global teams; respond to tickets in 24x7 shift.
- Perform RCA and incident management for priority tickets; identify risks and participate in major changes; coordinate with 3rd parties and ensure SLA adherence.
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on hardware experience with RAID and Windows OS troubleshooting; strong Windows Server and clustering knowledge.
- Proficiency with patch management tools (WSUS, SCCM) and patch planning for large server environments.
- Expertise in DHCP (Scopes/Super Scopes), DFS, and file/print services; familiarity with KMS and Radius servers.
- Experience handling antivirus issues (Trend, Symantec, Forefront) and security concepts.
- Exposure to virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware) and Citrix; host and guest OS management.
- Scripting skills (VBScript, PowerShell) and a propensity for automation to reduce manual effort.
- Strong communication, documentation, time management, and ability to learn quickly; on-site data center support experience; willingness to travel.
- RCA, incident management, handling escalations, and coordinating with 3rd parties to meet SLAs.
Nice to Have
- Microsoft and other technical/industry certifications desirable.
- Exposure to VMware and Citrix environments.
