Job title: WHNP Program Director

About the Role A strategic leadership position to direct the WHNP program's clinical education, student assessment, accreditation compliance, and program evaluation. The role collaborates with the WHNP Program Director and oversees curriculum delivery and student success across didactic and clinical phases.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee recruitment, support, development, and evaluation of clinical preceptors and rotation sites for supervised clinical practice experiences
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with CCNE accreditation standards and NYSED Nursing Program registration standards related to WHNP clinical education
  • Develop and oversee student assessment, including remediation, for the clinical phase of the program
  • Ensure students meet health screening and immunization requirements of assigned clinical rotation sites
  • Maintain accurate student records and enforce academic policies consistent with the University, College and Program
  • Ensure students are prepared to achieve programmatic benchmarks and obtain NCC WHNP board certification
  • Collaborate with the WHNP Program Director on ongoing assessment of student performance toward attaining the program’s Student Learning Outcomes
  • Conduct and manage site visits to preceptors and students during clinical rotations
  • Oversee student academic progression, retention and completion strategies
  • Actively engage with programmatic evaluation
  • Participate in the student recruitment, selection and admissions process
  • Develop and deliver academic courses as assigned, including curriculum development, teaching and student assessment
  • Assist with curriculum evaluation and improvement
  • Perform student evaluations of OSCEs, lab practicals, and clinical skills and procedure sessions during the didactic and clinical phases of the program
  • Provide remedial instruction and reassessment as needed
  • Participate in the academic counseling of students as assigned
  • Serve on departmental, college and university committees as assigned
  • Participate in developing, reviewing and revising the mission statement, program goals and program competencies, as necessary
  • Conduct and disseminate scholarship
  • Other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in nursing education administration and program leadership, with a focus on WHNP programs
  • Knowledge of CCNE accreditation standards and NYSED Nursing Program registration standards for WHNP clinical education
  • Experience with clinical education programs, including recruitment of preceptors, site visits, and site management
  • Strong skills in student assessment, remediation, OSCEs/lab/practicum evaluations, and curriculum development
  • Ability to maintain accurate student records and enforce academic policies; support student progression and completion
  • Collaboration with program leadership and involvement in governance/committee work; commitment to program outcomes and scholarship
  • Evidence of teaching, course development, and academic counseling; readiness to contribute to mission and competencies
