Pay, Shift & Physical Expectations Pay Range: $23.00 – $35.00 / hour (Base rates start at $23–$30/hr; high-skilled welders mastering complex materials and tight blueprint tolerances reach up to $35/hr). Shift Breakdown: 1st Shift Direct Hire: 5:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Complete your onboarding, training, and long-term production all on 1st Shift! Physical Setup: You will be standing on your feet for extended periods while fabricating large assemblies. Work involves significant vertical welding (out-of-position precision welding on complex structural tooling). What You’ll Be Doing This is primarily an 80% TIG / 20% MIG shop environment working with steel, aluminum, and Invar 36. Fit, fabricate, and execute vertical and multi-position welds on complex aerospace tooling, jigs, fixtures, and custom shop components. Read and interpret blueprints and engineering specs with high accuracy. Set up and tune welding machines to exact job specifications. Measure and inspect materials using calipers, tape measures, and precision layout tools. Collaborate with floor leads to maintain high quality and shop productivity.

Responsibilities

• Welding Operations: Perform high-precision TIG (80%) and MIG (20%) welding on steel, aluminum, and Invar 36 components according to blueprint specifications.
• Blueprint Reading & Setup: Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and shop schematics to set up and fine-tune welding machines and fixtures.
• Fabrication & Tooling: Fabricate, revise, and adjust custom fixtures, jigs, gauges, special shop tooling, and precision assembly equipment.
• Inspection & Quality: Measure, inspect, and fit materials to exact tolerances using tape measures, calipers, and precision layout tools.
• Maintenance & Safety: Repair damaged metal components, maintain shop equipment, and keep a clean, organized work area adhering to strict safety standards (including mandatory eye/foot protection).
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with shop supervision, engineers, and floor leads to maintain high productivity, control timing, and drive shop performance.

The essential functions of this role include:
