  • Weld structural and non-structural components using SMAW (Stick), GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), FCAW, oxy-fuel, and other approved welding processes.

  • Fabricate, modify, repair, and refurbish metal assemblies, machinery components, support structures, test fixtures, and specialized equipment.

  • Perform project article preparation, modification, assembly, setup, and teardown activities in support of engineering, testing, prototyping, and production efforts.

  • Fabricate unconventional, one-of-a-kind items, systems, apparatuses, and structures in support of customer and program requirements.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, sketches, technical publications, specifications, and work instructions.

  • Position, align, fit, and secure components using fixtures, clamps, jigs, and measuring instruments preparatory to welding.

  • Verify proper joint preparation, material condition, and fit-up prior to welding operations.

  • Repair damaged, cracked, worn, or defective metal components and assemblies.

  • Perform thermal cutting, gouging, grinding, finishing, and surface preparation activities.

  • Control weld distortion through proper heat input management, weld sequencing, fixturing, and fabrication techniques.

  • Perform modifications to existing equipment, structures, and systems to satisfy project requirements while maintaining safety and technical compliance.

  • Conduct visual inspections of completed welds to verify quality, workmanship, and compliance with specifications.

  • Support First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process inspections, acceptance inspections, and final quality verification activities.

  • Record welding parameters, filler materials, process information, inspection results, and production documentation as required.

  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, quality personnel, project managers, and customers to ensure successful program execution.

  • Support structural fabrication, assembly integration, and installation efforts.
