Welder II

The Welder is responsible for using hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.

What you’ll be responsible for in this role:

• Read and follow written and verbal communication or instruction
• Read and interpret blueprints and work orders
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straight edges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers
• Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straight edges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment
• Must be able to adapt to rapidly changing situations
• Identify maintenance needed on equipment and tooling
• Work at different workstations as production needs require
• Maintain the work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner
• Use proper safety equipment and apparel required for each operation on individual’s product line or work cell
• Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:

• Occasionally – Sitting, Walking, Stooping/Twisting, Kneeling, Squatting, Pushing/Pulling, Reaching, Visual Acuity (Near/Far), and Lift/Carry up to 50lbs
• Frequently – Standing, Foot Use, and Lift/Carry up to 25lbs
• Constantly – Gripping

Occasionally – Occurs up to 1/3 of the time Frequently – Occurs 1/3 to 2/3 of the time Constantly – Occurs 2/3 or more of the time
