About this role

About the Role CAF seeks an experienced welder focused on GMAW with the ability to interpret drawings, follow WPS, and ensure high-quality welded components. This role requires attention to detail, safety adherence, and the ability to work independently and with a team to meet production goals. What You'll Do

  • Assemble and weld metal components (carbon steel, carbon to stainless, stainless) per specifications.
  • Prepare joints, remove contaminants with grinders/sanders, and follow WPS for welding parameters, wire size/type, and shielding gas.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in plasma arc or air carbon arc gouging for back-gouging root passes prior to full penetration.
  • Position, clamp, tack, and weld components in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions; verify fit-up with measuring tools.
  • Inspect welds for size and acceptance criteria; clean and repair as needed according to procedures.
  • Communicate assembly issues to management/engineering; participate in process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain organized, safe work area; manage PPE and PAPR usage.
  • Complete daily work documentation and perform basic equipment maintenance.
  • Adhere to work schedules and safety practices; perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or technical school graduation; associate or welding certificate preferred.
  • 10–15 years of experience with GMAW, GTAW, and/or Resistance Spot Welding.
  • Familiarity with AWS standards preferred.
  • Ability to pass multiple in-house weld certification tests.
  • Normal eyesight (correctable) and color distinction; medically qualified to work.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds; may work in hard-to-reach areas.
  • Understanding of spoken/written Spanish is highly desirable.

  • Spanish language proficiency.
  • Experience with AWS standards.
  • Associates or welding certificate from an accredited program. Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly wage range: $22 to $28 per hour.
