About the Role The Welder will assemble and weld metal components using GMAW and related techniques, interpret drawings, and follow Welding Procedure Specifications to ensure high-quality welds and on-time delivery. What You'll Do
- Assemble and weld metal components, including carbon steel and stainless steel, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications.
- Prepare joints before fit-up and welding, using grinders, sanders, die grinders, and approved solvents to remove contaminants.
- Follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) for assigned workstations, verifying welding parameters, wire size and type, and shielding gas.
- Demonstrate proficiency in plasma arc or air carbon arc gouging for back-gouging welded roots before full penetration.
- Position and clamp workpieces accurately, tack components based on thickness and joint type, and follow detailed sequence procedures.
