About the Role The Wealth Management Associate at Baker McKenzie in London will help drive cross-border initiatives and transactions for wealthy individuals, family offices, trustees and financial institutions, working closely with senior colleagues and clients across EMEA and globally. What You'll Do
- Provide advice to internationally mobile clients on planning structures and substantial cross-border and tax transactions for high-value clients and financial institutions.
- Develop ongoing relationships with existing clients and cultivate new contacts.
- Build close working relationships with overseas offices (Zurich, Geneva, Hong Kong, Singapore, Miami, New York) and collaborate with other London departments (Litigation, Employee Benefits, Tax).
- Take an active role in the firm’s International Annual Tax and Trust conference in London and other internal/external speaking engagements.
- Engage in business development and promote the firm to secure new work opportunities.
- Work as part of a team, supervising junior lawyers and trainees and sharing knowledge and experience. What We're Looking For
- Qualified wealth management associate/tax advisor (mid-level lawyer or accountant) with experience in UK tax planning for international and UK UHNW individuals and families and their family offices.
- Strong experience and detailed knowledge of taxation of UK resident non-UK domiciliaries and international tax planning.
- Prior experience at a London firm or leading regional law firm with a strong specialization in this field or at an accountancy firm.
- First-rate technical skills and strong client-facing abilities for a culturally diverse client base.
- Commerciality with demonstrable business development experience.
- Excellent written communication and drafting skills.
- Excellent academic credentials.
- Ability to work independently, with initiative, proactivity, maturity and gravitas.
- Strong service orientation.
