About the Role Join Northern Trust as a Wealth Advisor responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive wealth plans for high- and ultra-high-net-worth clients, in collaboration with lead relationship managers and professional advisors. The role combines advanced financial planning, wealth transfer strategy, and client relationship leadership to help clients meet their life goals.

What You'll Do

  • Develop a comprehensive personal and financial wealth profile for the client and family, identifying wealth-related life goals in collaboration with the Lead Relationship Manager.
  • Design and implement wealth plans integrating wealth management, wealth transfer and tax efficiency goals, in collaboration with the client’s professional advisors and Northern Trust partners; model plans for ultra-high net worth clients where a Regional Wealth Advisor is engaged.
  • Work with the Portfolio Manager, Regional Wealth Advisor, Trust Advisor, Banker and other Northern Trust professionals in the implementation of the client’s wealth plan.
  • Monitor and periodically update the client wealth plan.
  • Actively assist in the sales process and identify opportunities to expand client relationships through the introduction of new Northern Trust products and services.
  • Serve as a mentor to Associate Wealth Advisors and Wealth Advisors.
  • Cultivate professional advisor relationships, including attendance at and participation in professional conferences and advisor networks.
  • Operate independently; possess in-depth knowledge of the business unit/function.
  • As a subject area expert, provide comprehensive, in-depth consulting and leadership to team and partners at a high technical level.
  • Carry out activities that are large in scope, cross-functional and technically difficult; contribute to strategic direction of the business function.
  • Conduct preliminary analysis and interact with different committees and/or management.
  • Strategically develop, implement and administer programs within functional areas.

What We're Looking For

  • 5-7 years of wealth planning experience working with high-/ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families in a comprehensive capacity.
  • Advanced educational and professional designations including CFP, JD, MBA or similar evidence of advanced learning and professional consulting qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of wealth transfer planning, taxation, estate planning solutions, wealth management products and services; broad technical and analytical skills in wealth planning, wealth transfer, tax, philanthropy, fiduciary practice, asset location and preservation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proactive, consultative orientation.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced educational and professional designations such as CFP, JD, MBA and similar evidence of advanced learning and professional consulting qualification (desired).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $189,290 - $331,200 USD; salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay.
