About the Role The WatHab Engineer will manage the infrastructure program for the Philippines' WatHab in Detention project, reporting to the WatHab Coordinator, and overseeing the program's implementation, team, and budget follow-up within the ICRC’s detention policy framework. What You'll Do
- Design, plan and provide on-site follow‑up for complex WatHab in Detention engineering projects within the Philippine delegation.
- Manage the WatHab infrastructure program in detention, ensuring objectives, resources, and robust project reporting.
- Lead the WatHab in Detention engineering team (2–3 resident engineers) and support other Water & Habitat team members in the Philippines.
- Contribute to annual planning processes (APM and PMfR) and other institutional reporting.
- Interface with authorities and partners (e.g., BJMP & BuCor), contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders as an ICRC representative for detention infrastructure. What We're Looking For
- University degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering or related fields; project management training preferred; advanced knowledge in water and sanitation or construction; advanced knowledge of electromechanical and/or hydraulic engineering preferred.
- Proficient in planning, organization and data-management software; good command of English.
- 6–8 years of professional experience in project management in a watHab-related field, with at least 1–2 years at the ICRC or an international NGO considered an asset.
- Experience coordinating multiple tasks and complex stakeholder groups; experience managing 4–6 technical staff.
- Ability to work within a delegation or sub-delegation and liaise with detention authorities and external partners. Nice to Have
- Advanced knowledge in hydromechanics, electromechanical systems or hydraulic engineering; additional professional certifications in project management. Compensation & Benefits
