About the Role
The WatHab Engineer will plan, design, and implement engineering projects aligned with ICRC’s Water, Habitation (WatHab) program within the Detention portfolio and the Beirut delegation. The incumbent will oversee multidisciplinary projects, ensuring they are delivered within scope, quality standards, timelines, and budget, and will conduct needs assessments, develop designs, and manage implementation and commissioning. The role also requires managing stakeholder relationships, coordinating resources, and providing timely project reporting. Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Lebanon. What You'll Do

Assist the program manager in identifying and analyzing needs through assessments and surveys.

Contribute to evaluating project feasibility, gaining a clear understanding of needs and challenges.

Support the identification of and collaboration with stakeholders who may influence project success.

Collect all necessary information and data to prepare projects.

Develop studies, project proposals, and technical designs (e.g., specifications, drawings, BoQs) with guidance from technical experts (internal or external consultants).

Prepare and submit project documentation to the program manager for review.

Actively participate in the launch of procurement processes and works contracts, ensuring compliance with the delegation's rules and proper follow-up.

Organize and supervise the implementation of project-related works and activities.

Regularly anticipate, identify, and escalate potential issues that could impact the project, proposing and implementing corrective actions as needed.

Oversee the commissioning and handover of infrastructure and equipment to relevant stakeholders, ensuring proper communication and training for the "client" on the use of facilities, equipment, and services.

Ensure accurate and timely reporting and documentation using appropriate tools. What We're Looking For

Education: Master degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Professional experience: 3 years of professional experience in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering; 3 years of professional experience in Project Management.

Languages: Arabic (Native); English (Full professional working proficiency).

Other requirements: Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Lebanon.

Salary range: 2’120 – 3’095 USD/Month (as per ICRC salary scale).

Transportation Allowance: 13 USD per day.

13th Month of salary paid in December, pro rata basis in accordance with the period worked.

Annual Leave: 20 calendar working days of paid leave per year, pro rata basis in accordance with the period worked.

Health Insurance: Full insurance coverage (no co-NSSF) - 90% of premium fees under class B covered by ICRC; option for class upgrade available with extra charges. Coverages include in-patient, out-patients, doctor visits, medicines, laboratory tests, and therapeutic services.
