Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the execution of WASH projects in strict adherence to work plans, budgetary constraints, technical standards, and donor mandates.

  • Oversee the construction, rehabilitation, and upkeep of essential infrastructure, including water systems, sanitation units, and handwashing stations.

  • Perform regular site inspections to track progress, address operational hurdles, and ensure activities meet safety and technical specifications.

  • Coordinate the distribution of hygiene kits, water treatment supplies, and other approved materials to beneficiaries.

  • Lead hygiene promotion workshops covering topics such as handwashing, safe water handling, waste management, and disease prevention.

  • Mobilize community members to actively participate in sanitation drives and hygiene campaigns.

  • Strengthen community WASH committees and foster local ownership of water and sanitation facilities.

  • Collaborate with community leaders, women's groups, and youth organizations to ensure inclusive participation in program activities.

  • Assist in gathering data through needs assessments, baseline surveys, and post-distribution monitoring using approved methodologies.

  • Maintain precise records of beneficiary information, activity logs, and attendance to support accurate reporting.

  • Identify vulnerable demographics, including female-headed households and persons with disabilities, according to established criteria.

  • Document field activities, including photography where consent is granted, and report any gaps in service delivery to management.

  • Compile daily, weekly, and periodic reports on project progress and indicator verification.

  • Manage community feedback and complaints through established accountability channels and report safeguarding concerns or fraud immediately.

  • Coordinate closely with the WASH Officer, MEAL team, logistics staff, and external partners to ensure seamless service delivery and avoid duplication of efforts.

  • Uphold organizational policies regarding safeguarding, PSEA, child protection, gender equality, and staff conduct.

  • Ensure all activities are inclusive, culturally sensitive, and safe, while adhering to security protocols and proper equipment handling.

  • Execute any additional WASH-related tasks assigned by the supervisor that align with organizational goals.
