The Hershey Company Memphis Plant is seeking motivated individuals to join our Warehouse team as a Warehouse Operator (Forklift I). In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating forklift equipment, supporting warehouse operations, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and housekeeping standards. You will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where safety, teamwork, and operational excellence are essential.

Shifts

We ask that you are flexible to work any shift, including weekends, overtime, and holidays.

Schedule assignment upon hire is determined by plant needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift around pedestrians, equipment, and warehouse operations.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safe work habits, hygiene standards, plant dress codes, and housekeeping requirements.
• Utilize computer systems and SAP for warehouse-related activities.
• Support inventory activities, including month-end inventory counts.
• Learn and operate multiple types of warehouse equipment, including reach lifts and warehouse robotics.
• Maintain flexibility to perform various warehouse assignments as needed.
• Keep work areas clean during shifts and prior to shift changeovers.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to team objectives.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Maintain excellent safety, attendance, and performance records.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must have at least one year of previous forklift operating experience.
• Forklift certification required.
• Must have basic computer skills and SAP experience.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must be flexible to work any shift, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Must possess basic math skills.
• Must pass a required eye examination.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating reach lift equipment.
• Previous warehouse experience in a manufacturing or food manufacturing environment.
• Experience using SAP inventory or warehouse management systems.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety standards.
• Experience working with warehouse automation or robotic equipment.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, crouch, bend, twist, and perform repetitive movements.
• Must be able to push or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with repetitive lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Annual eye examinations are required for this role.

Work Environment

• Work is performed within a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
• Noise levels are typically high, and hearing protection is required.
• The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
• Must follow all safety, quality, and food safety requirements.
