  • Position Summary

  • The Warehouse Operations Lead provides frontline leadership for daily distribution center activities and supports Warehouse Associates in achieving safety, quality, productivity, inventory accuracy, and customer service goals. This hands-on role coordinates labor and product flow, monitors operational performance, removes barriers, supports training, and maintains an organized, high-performing work environment. Working closely with Warehouse Supervisors, the Lead communicates priorities, reinforces standard operating procedures, and drives accountability and continuous improvement across receiving, processing, sortation, inventory movement, packing, and shipping operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and support Warehouse Associates in meeting daily safety, quality, productivity, attendance, and customer service expectations.

  • Communicate shift priorities, work assignments, performance goals, safety topics, and operational updates.

  • Monitor productivity, throughput, labor utilization, quality, and inventory accuracy; provide real-time feedback and recognition.

  • Coordinate staffing and workflow across receiving, processing, sortation, inventory movement, packing, and shipping activities.

  • Identify and resolve workflow bottlenecks and escalate equipment, staffing, safety, quality, or process issues when needed.

  • Ensure associates follow standard operating procedures, work instructions, quality requirements, and company policies.

  • Conduct safety observations, address unsafe conditions, and reinforce proper material-handling practices.

  • Support onboarding, job training, cross-training, and skills development for new and existing team members.

  • Partner with Warehouse Supervisors to address performance gaps and reinforce accountability, engagement, and teamwork.

  • Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready work areas by reinforcing 5S and housekeeping standards.

  • Support cycle counts, inventory accuracy activities, and the proper storage and handling of inventory and materials.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, capacity, quality, and workforce readiness.

  • Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

  • 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, material handling, or a related operational environment.

  • Working knowledge of warehouse functions such as receiving, processing, sortation, inventory movement, packing, and shipping.

  • Experience monitoring productivity, throughput, quality, or other operational performance metrics.

  • Ability to lead by example, communicate expectations, provide coaching, and support team accountability.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritize work, adjust assignments, and respond to changing operational demands in a fast-paced environment.

  • Basic computer skills and experience using warehouse systems, RF devices, or similar technology.

  • Commitment to workplace safety, quality, attendance, inventory accuracy, and customer service standards.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift or move products in accordance with site and company safety requirements.

  • Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Associate degree in business, logistics, supply chain, operations, or a related field.

  • Previous experience as a warehouse lead, team lead, trainer, coordinator, or informal frontline leader.

  • Experience in a high-volume distribution center or fulfillment environment.

  • Experience using a warehouse management system (WMS), RF scanners, inventory systems, and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Experience supporting staffing plans, labor allocation, productivity targets, cycle counts, or inventory control activities.

  • Knowledge of 5S, Lean, continuous improvement, visual management, or operational excellence practices.

  • Experience onboarding, training, cross-training, or developing warehouse employees.

  • The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $49,500.00 - $79,200.00 per year.

  • The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate’s primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.
