Warehouse Material Handler

About the Role The Naval Array Technical Support Center (NATSC) is a U.S. Navy facility operated by Leidos. NATSC provides repair, refurbishment, upgrades, and testing of Navy towed sonar arrays that support submarine and surface ship operations. Leidos' Defense Group is seeking a Warehouse Material Handler to support logistics operations at the NATSC in Newport, Rhode Island. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, is dependable, and is eager to learn. No advanced education is required—we provide training for individuals who demonstrate a strong work ethic and a willingness to develop new skills. What You'll Do

• Load and unload vehicles and transport materials safely throughout the facility.
• Receive, inspect, issue, and store materials in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using both electronic and paper-based systems.
• Perform daily inventory audits and cycle counts.
• Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and powered material handling equipment.
• Package and prepare materials for shipment.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse environment.
• Follow all safety, quality, and security procedures. What We're Looking For
• High school diploma or GED.
• U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. An Interim Secret clearance is required to begin employment.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn, accept training, and follow established procedures.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Previous warehouse experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train motivated individuals who are dependable and eager to learn.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with standard office equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds without assistance.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. Nice to Have
• 1–2 years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, shipping/receiving, or material handling environment.
• Experience supporting warehouse operations or inventory management.
• Experience reading or interpreting warehouse storage plans.
• Previous experience supporting NATSC Newport as a Warehouse Specialist or in a similar role. Compensation & Benefits
• Pay: $19.33/hr. This position is covered under the Service Contract Act and includes minimum wage and Health & Welfare benefits as described by Leidos.
