Job title: Warehouse / Logistics Assistant
About the Role The Warehouse / Logistics Assistant coordinates and executes the assigned warehouse and/or logistics activities to ensure safe, efficient storage and flows of materials and equipment, in line with specifications and safety policies. The role supports production, warehousing and distribution by providing administrative support and hands-on execution of warehousing and/or outbound transport activities. Depending on the OpCo, the role may be more specialist or an all‑rounder handling goods control and distribution, including forklift duties when required.
What You'll Do
- Inventory management & stock control: monitor stock, place (re)orders as needed, register materials in relevant systems, evaluate supplier performance, and maintain materials/equipment for optimal availability and to identify bottlenecks.
- Inbound goods and storing: coordinate intake of materials/equipment, verify quantities and condition, organize unloading and storage, label items, and store at defined locations.
- Order handling: receive and process orders, select, check, pack and/or distribute materials to internal or external customers and deliver to the required location, in cooperation with warehouse staff or autonomously when appropriate.
- Outbound goods and transport planning: ensure goods are transport-ready with dispatch documents, prepare transportation, and contribute to routing/scheduling based on customer records to meet expectations and optimize vehicle use.
- Systems and administration: perform intake/distribution in relevant systems, log hours and other logistics data, and generate reports; maintain master data and ensure compliance with Nutreco standards.
- Customer satisfaction: manage relationships with internal and external customers and respond to requests to maintain confidence and positive feedback.
- Continuous improvement: monitor logistics processes and initiate improvements to optimize efficiency and alignment with standards.
- Compliance: ensure compliance with operating, safety, quality, risk and health regulations.
- Other duties: perform additional warehouse/logistics tasks and special projects as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in warehouse/logistics operations and in coordinating stock control, inbound/outbound processes, or a combination thereof.
- Ability to process orders, check, pack and distribute materials, and support transport planning.
- Familiarity with relevant logistics systems, data entry, and master data maintenance.
- Customer focus with good communication and teamwork skills; ability to interact with internal and external customers.
- Understanding of safety, quality, risk, and health regulations and a commitment to compliant operations.
Nice to Have
- Forklift experience or willingness/ability to operate a forklift if required.
- Proactive mindset and problem-solving attitude.
