Job title: Warehouse Lead
About the Role We are hiring immediately for a Warehouse Lead. This role serves as the life-supporting backbone that keeps regional hospitals stocked with PPE and surgical equipment, ensuring materials reach doctors and nurses who deliver patient care.
What You'll Do
- Verifies materials loaded or unloaded against work orders or bills of lading.
- Directs Material Handlers or Distribution Coordinators to move materials to storage areas.
- Trains or ensures training of new teammates and retrains existing teammates.
- Studies production schedules and estimates teammate-hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
- Interprets specifications and job orders and assigns duties.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Recommends improvements to production methods, quality, and working conditions to increase warehouse efficiency.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists teammates in solving work problems.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate teammates to achieve work goals.
- Communicates with supervisors and management regarding personnel issues and day-to-day operations.
- Conducts regular team talks or start-up meetings in conjunction with supervisors; provides regular feedback on teammate performance.
What We're Looking For
- General knowledge of a variety of basic topics (e.g., math, reading, basic accounting, typing).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of all company warehouse training modules and relevant certifications.
- Certified on all warehouse machinery.
- At least one year of Owens & Minor experience; for external hires, warehouse lead or supervisor experience preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment and collaborate with teams.
