About the Role Join Scholastic Book Fairs as a Part Time Seasonal Power Equipment Operator (Level I). This safety-sensitive role supports building and delivering book fairs in Scholastic facilities and partner schools. Typical hours are 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday-Friday during peak school year periods.

What You'll Do

• Operate power equipment (Order Picker) to manage inventory movements, cycle counts, daily equipment inspections, and asset storage.
• Consistently meet minimum production, accuracy, and quality standards for all work performed.
• Follow all safety policies, processes, and procedures; keep work area neat, clean, safe, and organized.
• Be flexible to work on temporary projects as part of individual and team development.
• Contribute to building and delivering Bookjoy by supporting book fairs for schools.
• This is a safety sensitive position; Power Equipment Operators must pass a drug test before operating equipment at Scholastic facilities.

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be trained and licensed to operate power equipment; forklift training program completion.
• For non-internal promotions, minimum 1 year of power equipment operation experience.
• Ability to demonstrate basic product scanner proficiency (e.g., ordering replenishment) with minimal errors.
• Strong team player with good verbal/written communication, basic math skills, and ability to read documents in English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Physical demands: ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, reach, squat, bend, and kneel; tolerate non-air-conditioned environments.
• Comfortable working at significant heights since the primary equipment is an Order Picker.
• Must be drug free and able to pass initial and ongoing drug screens; willing to train and become certified on assigned equipment.

Compensation & Benefits

• $18 per hour with a $1.50 shift differential (total $19.50/hour) for the 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM shift.
