Position: VP – R&D Location: Pune Grade: VP (L2) Reporting To: Sr. VP – Business Head Role Overview: The VP – R&D will lead Millennium’s Innovation Centre, Application Engineering, and Design House as a strategic techno-commercial business unit. The role will drive innovation-led demand creation, build customer-centric design capabilities, and strengthen Millennium’s positioning beyond distribution through technology-led solutions and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and establish a profitable Millennium Innovation Centre / Design House catering to Indian and global customers.
• Set up and scale a world-class Test Lab (optional, based on business strategy).
• Develop a profitable Application Engineering business delivering end-to-end customer solutions, including in-house design and fully functional boards across industry segments.
• Lead, mentor, and strengthen the Design & Engineering teams; drive capability building and succession planning.
• Own department budgets, commercial outcomes, and overall P&L.
• Drive rapid change and scale operations in a dynamic and complex organization.
• Lead demand creation and innovation initiatives aligned with customer and market requirements.
• Work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to define market strategies and build Millennium’s technology brand.
• Build strong industry partnerships with customers, OEMs, ODMs, and ecosystem stakeholders.
• Drive long-term technology roadmap and identify future-focused innovation opportunities.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics / Electrical / Computer / Telecommunication Engineering from a reputed institute.

• Postgraduate qualification in Technology / Design is an added advantage.

• 15–20+ years of experience in electronics design, development, and system engineering.

• Strong understanding of semiconductor and electronics component ecosystem.

• Deep exposure to automotive, electrical and electronics architecture.

• Established industry connects across OEMs, ODMs, IDHs, Tier 1 & Tier 2 customers.

• Strong understanding of emerging technology trends, regulations, and industry standards.

• Active association with industry bodies/forums preferred.

• Proven leadership experience in building technology teams and driving business growth.
