Position Overview
The Vice President, Information Technology is the senior leader responsible for defining and executing the enterprise IT strategy and ensuring the delivery of reliable, secure, scalable, and cost-effective technology capabilities that support Adaptive’s business objectives and long-term growth.
In partnership with the Senior Vice President, Technology and the executive leadership team, the Vice President establishes the vision, priorities, operating model, and multi-year roadmap for enterprise IT. This role has executive accountability for corporate infrastructure, enterprise applications, the Enterprise Data Warehouse and related data platforms, Modern Workplace, identity and access management, Service Desk operations, Business Relationship Management, IT governance, and business continuity.
The Vice President serves as a strategic advisor to business and functional leaders, anticipating organizational needs and translating business priorities into enterprise technology investments and capabilities. This leader is accountable for IT organizational performance, financial stewardship, operational resilience, risk management, regulatory readiness, employee technology experience, and measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Enterprise IT Strategy and Executive Leadership

Define and own Adaptive’s enterprise IT strategy, operating model, and multi-year roadmap in alignment with company and Technology priorities.

Partner with the SVP, Technology, executive leadership team, and functional leaders to identify business needs, evaluate technology opportunities, and prioritize enterprise investments.

Serve as the company’s principal advisor on enterprise IT capabilities, operational resilience, technology lifecycle management, data platforms, and the employee technology experience.

Translate business strategy into scalable technology capabilities, transformation initiatives, investment plans, and measurable outcomes.

Establish enterprise IT priorities and communicate strategy, performance, risks, and investment needs to executive stakeholders.

Monitor emerging technologies, industry trends, and evolving business requirements to identify opportunities and manage enterprise technology risk.
Organizational Leadership and Operating Model

Build, lead, and develop a high-performing enterprise IT organization capable of supporting Adaptive’s current operations and future growth.

Establish an effective organizational structure with clear roles, decision rights, accountability, succession plans, and career development opportunities.

Lead and develop IT leaders and teams through clear expectations, regular coaching, performance management, and workforce planning.

Foster a culture of customer focus, operational excellence, accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Define and maintain IT governance, policies, standards, controls, and operating procedures across the enterprise.

Establish appropriate sourcing and service-delivery models across internal teams, managed service providers, consultants, and technology vendors.
Infrastructure, Enterprise Systems, and Data Platforms

Own the strategy, architecture, implementation, operation, and lifecycle management of Adaptive’s corporate technology environment.

Provide executive oversight for networks, cloud platforms, identity and access management, endpoints, telecommunications, collaboration platforms, and workplace technology.

Establish the enterprise applications strategy and oversee platforms supporting functions such as Finance, Human Resources, Legal, Operations, and employee productivity.

Own the strategy, architecture, operation, and lifecycle management of the Enterprise Data Warehouse and related enterprise data platforms.
-
Ensure enterprise systems and data platforms are resilient, scalable, secure, supportable, integrated, and aligned with business requirements and enterprise architecture standards.

Partner with Data, Engineering, Security, and business leaders to establish standards for data architecture, integration, governance, quality, access, retention, lineage, and security.

Oversee the integration of enterprise applications and source systems into the Enterprise Data Warehouse, including data pipelines, monitoring, service levels, and operational support.

Ensure enterprise data platforms effectively support reporting, analytics, regulatory requirements, and strategic decision-making.

Guide technology selection, modernization, consolidation, and retirement decisions to reduce complexity and improve business value.

Establish lifecycle, capacity, availability, performance, and resilience plans for critical enterprise systems and data services.
Modern Workplace, Service Delivery, and Employee Experience

Own the Modern Workplace strategy, including endpoints, collaboration platforms, productivity tools, mobility, workplace technology, and employee technology adoption.

Establish the vision and service model for enterprise IT support and the end-to-end employee technology experience.

Provide executive oversight of Service Desk operations, including incident and request fulfillment, knowledge management, escalation, service performance, and continuous improvement.

Ensure consistent, responsive, and high-quality IT services across office-based, remote, and distributed teams.

Define service-level objectives, key performance indicators, experience measures, operational metrics, and executive reporting mechanisms.

Use performance data and employee feedback to improve service quality, reliability, productivity, adoption, and satisfaction.

Provide executive oversight of incident, problem, request, asset, knowledge, configuration, and change-management practices.

Ensure technology onboarding, offboarding, and other employee lifecycle services are secure, consistent, efficient, and scalable.
Business Relationship Management

Establish and lead a Business Relationship Management capability that connects business priorities with IT strategy, services, capabilities, and investments.

Develop trusted relationships with functional leaders to understand their objectives, demand, pain points, risks, and future capability needs.

Maintain business technology roadmaps and facilitate demand intake, prioritization, portfolio planning, and value realization.

Translate business needs into clear technology requirements, service improvements, and investment proposals.

Ensure business stakeholders receive clear communication regarding service performance, initiative status, technology risks, dependencies, and investment decisions.

Measure stakeholder satisfaction and the business value delivered through IT services and initiatives.

Promote adoption of enterprise technology capabilities and ensure business areas are prepared for technology-driven change.
Security, Risk, Compliance, and Business Continuity

Partner with Information Security, Privacy, Legal, and Compliance leaders to maintain secure IT operations and support regulatory and contractual obligations.

Ensure the effective implementation and operation of IT controls related to identity and access management, endpoint security, vulnerability remediation, patching, configuration, backups, and disaster recovery.

Establish clear accountability for technology risks and ensure material risks, control gaps, and remediation plans are communicated to appropriate executive stakeholders.

Oversee IT’s participation in audits, risk assessments, regulatory reviews, and customer assurance activities.

Maintain and regularly test IT business-continuity and disaster-recovery capabilities.

Provide executive leadership during significant technology incidents, coordinating response, communication, recovery, root-cause analysis, and corrective action.
Portfolio, Financial, and Vendor Leadership

Own enterprise IT portfolio planning, prioritization, governance, and delivery.

Develop and manage the IT operating and capital budgets, multi-year investment plans, forecasts, and resource-allocation decisions.

Establish business cases and value measures for significant technology investments and ensure initiatives deliver intended outcomes.

Provide executive oversight of strategic vendors, managed service providers, contracts, renewals, licensing, and commercial negotiations.

Evaluate vendor performance, concentration risk, service quality, security posture, and long-term strategic fit.

Drive cost optimization, platform rationalization, and operational efficiency while maintaining appropriate service, security, resilience, and compliance standards.
Cross-Functional Partnership and Transformation

Build trusted partnerships with Engineering, Data, Security, Finance, Human Resources, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and other business functions.

Lead the IT components of enterprise transformations, organizational changes, office expansions, and major business initiatives.

Partner with business leaders to improve processes, increase automation, strengthen data flows, and support effective technology adoption.

Provide leadership for the IT aspects of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and integrations, including diligence, planning, execution, and stabilization.

Establish effective change-management and communication practices for enterprise technology initiatives.

Represent enterprise IT in executive planning, governance, and decision-making forums.

Position Requirements (Education, Experience, Other)
Required

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, with at least 20 years of related experience, OR

Master’s degree in a related field with at least 18 years of related experience, OR

D. in a related field with at least 12 years of related experience

Significant senior leadership experience within enterprise IT, including leadership of managers, multidisciplinary teams, and complex technology portfolios.

Demonstrated success defining and executing an enterprise IT strategy aligned with business objectives and organizational growth.

Proven experience leading enterprise IT operations in a complex, distributed, or rapidly evolving organization.

Deep understanding of cloud platforms, enterprise SaaS, identity and access management, endpoint technologies, networking, collaboration platforms, Modern Workplace capabilities, and IT service management.

Demonstrated experience overseeing enterprise applications and data platforms, including an Enterprise Data Warehouse.

Experience leading Service Desk operations and establishing measurable performance metrics.
