About this role
VP, Enterprise TMO
SUMMARY
Leads the Enterprise Transformation Management Office (E-TMO) governance model, establishing and enforcing enterprise-wide standards, reporting practices, and oversight across strategic initiatives. Drives executive governance cadence, aligns cross-functional priorities, manages dependencies and risks, removes delivery roadblocks, and ensures accountability for achieving program outcomes and benefits realization.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Own the Enterprise TMO (E-TMO) governance model and enforce standards
- Own the TMO governance model across the O&M enterprise, running the Enterprise TMO as the PMO of PMOs
- Set direction and priorities for initiative owners across all functional PMOs and at ELT level
- Define and enforce one shared reporting standard: cadence, stage gates, status definitions, and data quality
Run the E-TMO rhythm
- Chair the governance rhythm: initiative reviews, monthly program review, and ELT reporting
- Maintain a single enterprise view of initiatives, milestones, dependencies, risks, and benefits
- Challenge owners on plans and baselines, and track benefit realization against baseline
Unblock delivery and build the E-TMO team
- Update the ELT on program status, and escalate and clear roadblocks owners cannot resolve
- Arbitrate sequencing and dependency conflicts between functions to protect the critical path
- Lead adoption of the governance model with functional leaders, and build the Enterprise TMO team
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- 10+ years in enterprise program management or PMO leadership, with 5+ years leading multi-function programs
- Experience in medical distribution, or asset-intensive operations strongly preferred
- Proven record standing up an enterprise TMO or PMO of PMOs
- Experience leading a team and providing day to day direction, coaching, and development to direct reports
- Experience running governance for a portfolio of initiatives with executive and executive leadership level reporting
- Strong financial skills: business cases, benefit baselining, P&L linkage, and benefit realization tracking
- Practical command of portfolio tooling and dashboards; Smartsheet experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to influence functional executives and peers without direct authority
- Experience in strategy consulting or a senior project management role strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s in business, Engineering, Finance, or similar; MBA or PMP an asset
COMPETENCIES:
- Executive presence; credible with the ELT and with initiative owners on the front line
- Disciplined operator who holds the cadence and names slippage early
- Challenges senior colleagues on evidence rather than opinion
- Systems thinker who sees cross-functional dependencies before they become issues
- Bias to action; clears obstacles rather than reporting them
