About the Role The VP, Enterprise Architect - Modernization will lead modernization strategy and implementation planning for new and emerging technologies within AIG's IT organization. Reporting to the Global head of Architecture, this role collaborates with IS leaders, CIOs, and LoB architects as part of a federated Architecture Center of Excellence to deliver value, enable well-architected capabilities, and craft world-class digital experiences. The position anchors modernization and innovation practice management and shapes cross-LOB IT strategies for future-ready AI-led capabilities.

What You'll Do

• Lead modernization strategy and implementation planning for new and emerging technologies.
• Manage the modernization and innovation practice management operating model.
• Shape enterprise IT strategies for cross-LOB capabilities including modern data platforms, integration techniques, and taxonomy development to enable AI-led capabilities.
• Establish enterprise asset taxonomies addressing infrastructure, data, software, governance, risk and compliance for agile delivery and risk management.
• Lead innovative technologies anchored in the business and operating model; apply agile, DevOps and lean approaches to evolve and manage innovation.
• Develop and mature the enterprise architecture approach to AI/ML, GenAI and agentic frameworks for intelligent employee assistants, workflows and autonomous systems.
• Communicate technical architecture direction for AI-enabled IT and LoB initiatives; define standards for AI/ML and agentic approaches with appropriate controls.
• Define hybrid cloud reference architectures and cloud infrastructure patterns.
• Plan and manage a talent pool of enterprise and domain architects; supervise a team directly and indirectly.
• Integrate emerging technology trends into the overall enterprise architecture vision, roadmaps, and IT operating model priorities.
• Lead community best practices, standards and governance for onboarding and maturity of emerging technologies; conduct architecture reviews and dependency/impact management.
• Collaborate with strategic business partners, cloud hyperscalers, SIs and expert groups to formulate guidance and execute on priorities.
• Participate in IT leadership committees/teams.

What We're Looking For

• Subject Matter Expert for technical architecture, existing, new and emerging technologies and processing environments.
• Master’s or Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems analysis, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in at least three disciplines across information, solution or technical architecture, application development, infrastructure, information security, or operations in a hybrid environment (cloud/on-prem).
• Minimum of 10+ years in technology leadership roles.
• Expert knowledge of business ecosystems, Gen AI/ML, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS on hybrid clouds, microservices & APIs, event-driven architectures, Open data, DevSecOps, predictive analytics and AI/ML.
• Deep experience with information management practices, SDLC, IT services management, agile/lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and EA/ITIL frameworks.
• Ability to resolve complex operational problems across teams with senior IT leadership; communicate vision to both technical teams and business leadership.
• Proven ability to recommend innovations and improvements to policies or procedures, and to adapt plans to resource and operational challenges.
• Experience managing fiscal responsibilities with regular interaction with management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary ranges: Jersey City, NJ: $126,000 - $171,000; New York, NY: $118,000 - $178,000; plus eligibility for bonus per incentive plan.
