Job title: Visiting Clinical Professor of Audiology
About the Role The School of Health Sciences at the University of the Pacific invites applications for a part-time, non-tenure track Visiting Clinical Professor of Audiology in the Audiology Department at the Stockton campus. The role focuses on delivering a full array of clinical audiology services, providing clinical education to AuD students, and upholding a culture of humanistic patient care. Appointments are non-tenurable and may be designated as either part-time or full-time with prefixes or suffixes as appropriate. The position is 1-3 days per week on-site at the Stockton campus.
What You'll Do
- Provide audiology services including threshold evaluation, speech audiometry, immittance testing, and otoacoustic emissions to evaluate and define hearing problems.
- Counsel patients and/or families regarding audiometric findings and subsequent recommendations.
- Provide comprehensive hearing aid services including evaluation, fitting, counseling, dispensing, electroacoustic and real-ear analysis, orientation, earmold impression modification, and minor hearing aid repair.
- Refer patients and family members to appropriate professional specialists, agencies, and resources. Provide written reports as appropriate and maintain careful documentation of records of services provided.
- Work with local community partners (i.e., schools and assisted living facilities) to provide audiologic and hearing aid services.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and guidelines established by local and state regulations for public health.
- Participate in the student clinical education, precepting and establishing high standards of student competency.
- Assist the Clinic Director with various tasks to enhance clinic operations, patient service policy and procedures, marketing efforts, and outreach activities.
- Attend clinic meetings and participate in program development and the improvement of services, as instructed by the clinic director.
- Actively participate in the comprehensive planning or review of the development and quality improvement of the educational programs and courses of study, assist in the evaluation of the effectiveness of such programs and courses, and make recommendations to the Deans and Provost concerning the University’s educational mission, programs, and policies.
- The faculty member may consider any matter in connection with the effectiveness and quality of the educational program or the professional welfare of the faculty, and may make recommendations to the department chair, academic dean, or provost concerning any policies, programs, or procedures that affect the educational program or faculty welfare.
- Each school and college in the University may have a faculty of its own consisting of all members of the University faculty within the particular school or college, and subject to the approval of the Provost, adopt by-laws and rules concerning its own organization, governance, and procedures.

What We're Looking For
- Clinical service experience with a patient-centered and evidence-based approach
- Current California Dispensing Audiologist License
- Experience in a wide range of specialties in the field of audiology (e.g., cochlear implantation, evoked potential, balance function management, tinnitus management, and pediatric audiology)
- Previous supervision of audiology students
- Familiarity with business administration, insurance billing procedures, and patient management system software
- Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in hearing aid dispensing, including programmable hearing aids from major manufacturers
- Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work
