Position Title

Visiting Assistant Professor, Crime, Justice, & Security Department
Crime, Justice, & Security Job Purpose The University of Scranton Department of Crime, Justice, & Security invites applications for a one-year, full-time appointment at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor beginning in August 2027.

Essential Duties

The successful applicant will be expected to teach courses in corrections and juvenile delinquency. Strong preference will be given to those with demonstrated teaching ability and commitment to teaching a course in race and ethnic relations. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to teach and develop courses within other areas of interest as aligned with the programmatic needs of our Criminal Justice and Sociology programs as determined by departmental faculty.
The teaching load is 21 credits over the fall and spring semesters.

Applicants must provide evidence of effective teaching and a sound research agenda. Applicants must possess a terminal degree (Ph.D.) in criminology, criminal justice, or sociology; ABD may apply. The J.D. is not considered a terminal degree for this position.
