About this role
Sow the Seeds of Friendship!
Do you enjoy gardening, good conversation, and sharing cultural connections? We are looking for a friendly Social Volunteer to visit a gentleman for one hour each week and provide companionship through regular visits.
This gentleman would love to spend time with someone who enjoys gardening, sharing tips, stories, and a passion for helping things grow. He also enjoys playing Briscola, the popular Italian card game, and would welcome a volunteer who can join him for a friendly game.
As an English and/or Italian-speaking volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to connect with him in either language, helping him stay socially engaged while building a meaningful friendship. Whether you're chatting about the garden, playing cards, or simply enjoying a conversation over a cup of coffee, your company will make a real difference to his week.
No special skills are needed beyond a friendly nature, a willingness to listen, and a love of connecting with others.
If you're ready to help a friendship blossom, share a game of Briscola, and bring the joy of Italian conversation to someone's week, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and help grow a connection that's rewarding for both of you!
1-hour visits, weekly or fortnightly on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, between 10:00am and 5:00pm. We're happy to work around your availability.
Your impact
Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
