Job title: VIP Host
About the Role The VIP Host at House of Blues New Orleans sells VIP options in advance and at showtime, ensuring guests receive highly personal service and upholding Live Nation’s standards. This role requires close collaboration with venue staff to maximize VIP inventory and deliver a premier experience.
What You'll Do
- Sell VIP tables, bottle service and reserved chairs in advance of every show and assist in maintaining monthly sales goals.
- Be present at every show to up-sell available VIP inventory to concert patrons.
- Serve as a resource of information for VIP clients regarding their experience within the House of Blues venue.
- Provide assistance for VIP clients regarding arrival timing and concert times.
- Recognize Foundation Members, Live Nation Executives and VIP clients to show appreciation for membership and patronage.
- Coordinate operations on the night of shows with Ops Director, servers and security.
- Ensure VIP areas are set up on the night of show, print sales collateral, conduct end-of-night reporting and ensure sections are cleared and cleaned after the show.
- Build strong relationships with Foundation Room members and VIP clients and anticipate their needs.
- Monitor VIP sections to ensure guests receive highly personal service at all times.
- Maintain articulate vocabulary and professional grooming standards to engage with diverse audiences.
- Be flexible to occasionally work Special Events scheduled throughout the venue.
What We're Looking For
- Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or Equivalent
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Working knowledge of high-end restaurant operations, seating procedures, guest relations, problem solving
- Experience in selling to high-end, VIP clients
- Diplomacy, ability to handle multiple tasks, verbal skills, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to diffuse potentially volatile situations with tact and diplomacy
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher/PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Flexible schedule
- Ability to work in multi-venue environments
- Ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper lifting techniques
