About the Role As a VIE - Indirect Buyer at Alstom, you will set up the full supplier selection process and deploy the commodities strategy, ensuring project execution aligns with Quality, Cost, Delivery and Technical (QCDT) objectives. You will also manage supplier panel relationships and support problem-solving with internal customers. What You'll Do
- Set up full supplier selection process: Prepare and launch RFQ with suppliers; Run standard negotiations; Monitor Procurement project QCDT & legal project evolution (FAI, Business Award, Product development); Prepare Business Award.
- Support commodity strategy: Consolidate commodity needs and inputs; Participate in commodity strategy and panel elaboration; Provide inputs to build differentiation; Ensure effective teamwork with internal customers and stakeholders in problem solving.
- Build supplier relationships: Support global supplier panel relationships; Manage specific supplier panel relationships (negotiation, specific agreements, local supplier QCDT performances); Measure supplier performance and develop them in coordination with the supplier Quality Team; Assess all risky suppliers properly and manage the associated mitigation plan; Manage initial issues before escalation to line manager. What We're Looking For
- Degree in Business, Purchasing, or related field
- Experience or understanding of supplier selection and procurement processes
- Knowledge of Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Technical (QCDT) principles
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
- Strong negotiation skillset
- Fluency in English and French
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment
