Job title: Video Platform Engineer
About the Role Cloudinary is seeking to scale high-performing video experiences using AI-powered automation. You will help deliver dynamic transcoding, smart cropping, overlays, AI previews, and shoppable video to boost conversions while ensuring fast, branded experiences across web and mobile.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to and own features across the Cloudinary Video Platform, including dynamic video transcoding, smart cropping, overlays, AI previews, and shoppable video experiences.
- Build and maintain adaptive bitrate streaming and a fast, branded video player to protect Core Web Vitals.
- Leverage built-in AI to generate localized transcripts, subtitles, chapters, and metadata for accessibility from day one.
- Implement AI-powered workflows like Image to Video to convert brand assets into video content without extra production resources.
- Support video uploads, tagging, moderation, analytics, and API-driven video transformations to optimize reach and conversions across channels.
- Collaborate with product, design, and customer-facing teams to meet customer needs and scale at pace.
What We're Looking For
- Experience with large-scale video platforms, media pipelines, or related cloud-based video services.
- Familiarity with AI-powered video processing, dynamic transcoding, adaptive bitrate streaming, and video metadata such as transcripts, subtitles, chapters, and translations.
- API development experience, developer tooling, and ability to build or extend Video as a Service.
- Knowledge of content moderation, tagging, brand compliance, and engagement analytics.
- Strong collaboration skills and customer-focused mindset.
Nice to Have
- Experience with live streaming for commerce, marketing, or education scenarios.
- Familiarity with shoppable video, interactive video formats, or AI-assisted localization.
