Our Global Transportation Finance Group is a market-leading team that provides financial solutions to the world’s leading transportation companies across the aviation, shipping, container, rail, and trucking subsectors. This team specializes in structured debt, structured equity, credit finance, and complex asset-backed securitizations (ABS).

OUR IMPACT

The Structured Finance Group within the Investment Banking Division in New York is looking for a VP to join the team. The Structured Finance group works with clients to finance assets, businesses and risks within their overall business. Each structured finance desk offers specialized client coverage, product expertise, capital markets expertise, deal execution and dialogue with thought-leading investors. Transportation team's product suite includes securitizations (across aircraft, engines, ships, railcars, container boxes, etc.), EETC financings for airlines, principal financing in the form of warehouses and term loans, asset sales, e-notes, M&A and related financings as well as USPP, corporate bonds and term loan B issuances. Given the interaction with groups across the firm globally, Structured Finance provides exposure to a breadth of activities and deal types. These include securitizations, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, asset sales and secured lending. As aircraft and shipping are dollar denominated businesses, this is a team with a global remit.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead the origination, design, and structural engineering of complex securitizations and asset-based financing transactions. Client coverage responsibilities to originate and source opportunities and execute while overseeing junior team.
  • Structuring responsibilities include formulating customized capital structures that optimize leverage, amortization, and pricing for our global transportation clients.
  • Command the end-to-end execution of live transactions. This includes leading due diligence, driving credit approval processes, and directing the structuring and drafting of key offering materials, investor presentations, and asset stratifications.
  • Spearhead the negotiation of credit agreements, indentures, offering memorandums, and other transaction related legal documents in close coordination with internal and external legal counsel.
  • Own the rating agency process by managing cash flow model reviews, presenting structuring methodologies, and securing optimal credit ratings. Drive investor marketing strategies, including preparing and leading deal and non-deal roadshows.
  • 2+ years’ experience leading deal teams of analysts and associates.
  • Serve as a hub of expertise, coordinating seamlessly with IBD Classic coverage, Global Markets, Credit Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Operations to deliver the full capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years’ relevant work experience

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Solid work ethic, motivation level, and strong attention to detail

  • Personal integrity, initiative and leadership qualities

  • Capacity to interact and build relationships with a wide range of people and act as a point of contact

  • Well-rounded academic background from a top tier institution

  • Understanding of transaction cycles and the steps in the process

  • Demonstrate maturity to work with all levels of professionals across the firm and external clients

  • Possess good judgment to make quick and complex decisions

  • Salary Range

  • The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $250,000-$300,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
