About the Role The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine's Department of Family and Community Medicine seeks a Vice Chair of Research to lead and coordinate the department's overall research strategy. The role encompasses health services research, community-engaged research, quality improvement and implementation science, and educational research, with a focus on growing the department's funded research portfolio. The position includes an academic appointment with rank commensurate with experience. What You'll Do
- Provide strategic leadership for the department's research portfolio, including health services research, community-engaged research, quality improvement and implementation science, and educational research.
- Grow and manage the department's research activities, including pursuing external funding from agencies such as NIH and HRSA and building collaborative programs.
- Mentor faculty, research staff, and trainees; oversee research operations and ensure program quality and compliance.
- Foster partnerships across clinical programs, residency training, and external collaborators to advance education and patient-centered research. What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated leadership of health research programs or centers within an academic medical setting; track record of externally funded research.
- Strong strategic planning, communication, and collaboration skills; ability to build multidisciplinary teams.
- Eligibility for a faculty appointment with rank commensurate with experience; academic credentials appropriate for senior leadership in a college of medicine.
- Experience in health services research, community-engaged research, quality improvement/implementation science, or educational research; familiarity with NIH/HRSA funding is a plus.
