Cornelius Veterinary Clinic is seeking an Experienced Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our small-animal team. We primarily care for dogs and cats, with occasional care for rabbits, ferrets, and other small mammals.
What You’ll Do

Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, treatments, and patient care

Restrain and safely handle patients

Obtain and record patient vital signs

Assist with laboratory testing, radiographs, and basic procedures

Prepare patients for surgery and assist with surgical monitoring and recovery

Provide nursing care, including feeding, cleaning, medicating, and monitoring hospitalized patients

Assist with client communication, patient check-in/check-out, and medication instructions

Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical spaces

Follow OSHA, safety, sanitation, and patient-care protocols

What We’re Looking For

High school diploma or equivalent, or currently pursuing one

Previous veterinary experience is preferred but not required

Strong animal-handling and communication skills

Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance as needed
