Venture & Investment Analyst
Responsibilities The ideal candidate will (but not limited to): Deal Sourcing: Actively source and identify potential investment opportunities by scanning the market, attending industry events, and networking with entrepreneurs, incubators, and other stakeholders. Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence on potential investment targets, including analyzing financial statements, assessing market potential, evaluating business models, and identifying risks and opportunities. Financial Analysis: Develop and maintain financial models to assess the financial performance and projections of potential investment opportunities, including revenue forecasts, cash flow analysis, and valuation metrics. Market Research: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to understand industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscapes relevant to potential investment opportunities. Investment Recommendation: Prepare investment memos and presentations summarizing key findings, analysis, and recommendations for potential investment opportunities, and present these to investment decision-makers. Portfolio Management: Assist in managing the existing investment portfolio by monitoring the performance of portfolio companies, tracking key metrics, and identifying areas for value creation and operational improvement. Support Portfolio Companies: Provide support and guidance to portfolio companies post-investment, including connecting them with resources, facilitating strategic partnerships, and assisting with growth initiatives. Networking and Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, venture capital firms, industry experts, and other stakeholders to stay informed about market trends, investment opportunities, and potential partnerships. Industry Research: Stay updated on emerging technologies, market trends, and industry developments relevant to the venture capital ecosystem, and provide insights to the team. Collaboration: Collaborate with team members across various functions, including investment, legal, and operations, to facilitate seamless deal execution and portfolio management processes. Reporting: Prepare regular reports and updates on investment activities, portfolio performance, and market trends for internal stakeholders and investors. Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of best practices in venture capital, financial analysis, and industry-specific knowledge through continuous learning, networking, and professional development opportunities.
Requirement B.Sc. in Business Administration, Business Management, Accountancy, Economics, or related field. Minimum of 3 years experience as a Venture & Investment Analyst or similar role. Good understanding of digital business models combined with the analytical skill set for data-based evaluation. Interest in high-growth startups, venture capital and private equity or other fast-paced environments within investment banking, strategy consulting or later-stage. Salary: N100,000-150,000 (Negotiable based on experience)
