About the Role Vehicle Engineering Program Management Manager at Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. You will lead a portion of the Program Management team to drive successful execution of complex vehicle programs, ensure timely delivery, and supervise daily work of multiple team members. This is a supervisory role focused on delivering results and developing the capabilities of the team.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage a team of program analysts, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to drive exceptional performance.
- Lead problem-solving activities to address engineering challenges; leverage benchmarking, business case analysis, cost & weight initiatives, market & customer analysis.
- Prepare and deliver frequent reports to upper- and executive-level management.
- Drive alignment across organizations to create a unified program voice on issues, features, and specs critical to viability, customer needs, and market success.
- Develop and implement program management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices to ensure consistent and effective project execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define program objectives, scope, success criteria, and establish clear project plans and timelines.
- Monitor program progress, identify risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure on-time delivery.
- Conduct regular reviews of program performance and implement process improvements.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on status, milestones, and deliverables.
- Manage program budgets, resource allocation, and forecasting to ensure efficient utilization and adherence to financial targets.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment and promote continuous learning.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and leverage best practices to drive innovation.
What We're Looking For
- Engineering degree.
- Overall 10+ years of experience; 2-5 years in vehicle program management or related field; 7-10+ years in automotive industry.
- Prior leadership experience and a proven track record of delivering complex programs.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of driving innovation and process improvement.
- In-depth knowledge of program management principles and practices.
