About this role

UX Lead - Software Factories

This role is a part of TRATON Group R&D, located in Södertälje, Sweden. As a UX Lead within the Software Factories you lead User Experience design as a strategically important function and combine direction with active, hands-on work. You will be driving discovery, strategy, and highquality delivery across complex, multiplatform ecosystems while leading, mentoring a team of designers and collaborate deeply with cross-functional leaders and engineers. Your work significantly influences what is to be built by ensuring user-centric development while embracing modern tooling (especially AI) to drive both quality and speed.

You connect business strategy, technological feasibility, and real user needs to shape clear direction, principles, and value propositions. You coach teams, uplift UX maturity, and ensure governance and designsystem consistency, accessibility, and measurable impact. You are part of the VCT Software Factory Runway and are expected to actively contribute to the VCT's overall strategy and priorities.

Job Responsibilities

You will have an overall responsibility for product and application deliveries at a strategic, tactical and operational level in all channels and towards all target groups. You are responsible for the UX team, working methods and delivery, with the goal that design should contribute to business benefit, user value, and a strong operation within R&D EE Software Factory VCT. You ensure that design is a central part of product and business development.

You will bring user experience cohesion and recognition across a suite of products and applications, creating a seamless experience that reduces learning curves and improves ways of working for our internal customers.

  • Embed UX thinking into the product development lifecycle from discovery through delivery —Facilitating workshops, aligning senior stakeholders, and converting design intent into epics, user stories, and development‑ready specs.
  • Define and own the vision, strategy and roadmap for the UX design team, coaching, mentoring and developing team members within the VCT to elevate UX maturity — establishing excellent user experience in products and applications across EE Software toolchains.
  • Lead early‑stage problem framing and customer discovery, synthesize research into actionable roadmaps, and translate insights into flows, wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI (Figma) for web, mobile, and relevant interfaces, customer validation, data driven (qualitative and quantitative).
  • Acting as the design voice in product leadership: shaping priorities, highlighting user problems, and advocating for quality while engaging with trade‑offs.
  • Driving the adoption of modern design tools and AI‑aided workflows that accelerate both quality and delivery.
