About the Role Join Eskom as a Utilityman Site X12 on a fixed-term contract. This role supports Substations Construction Services at Ferrum Substation in the Northern Cape, performing semi-skilled civil and electrical-related fieldwork to assist with a wide range of manual tasks. What You'll Do
- Assist with a wide range of civil works including shuttering, concrete, reinforcing, electrical tasks, and other labouring duties, using appropriate power and hand tools
- Maintain the workplace in a clean and safe condition and ensure proper housekeeping
- Strict adherence to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality requirements (SHEQ) and the organisation's Safety Policy
- Contribute to risk management activities, including compiling a HIRA
- Perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and moving equipment/materials; work at heights when required
- Demonstrate time management, flexibility to work overtime, and effective communication within the team
- Adhere to work procedures and use tools and equipment safely and effectively What We're Looking For
- Grade 12 qualification
- 1-2 years’ experience in a related technical field
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform semi-skilled duties, including use of power/hand tools
- Knowledge of civil and cabling construction practices; basic safety rules/regulations
- Ability to identify and utilise tools and equipment; practical technical skills
- Interpersonal and communication skills; conflict resolution; attention to detail
- Self-discipline and confidentiality, with a results-driven attitude Nice to Have
- Experience in civil and cabling construction practices
- Prior work in a substations or electrical environment Compensation & Benefits
