About this role

About the Role The Utility Specialist role at Xerox in Webster, NY supports warehouse and manufacturing operations onsite. This position focuses on inventory accuracy, safe operation of mobile equipment, and general plant housekeeping to enable production and logistics workflows.

What You'll Do

  • Operates powered mobile equipment (fork lifts, powered lifts, hand trucks, walkie-stackers, etc.)
  • Performs warehouse duties including shipping, receiving, and movement of raw materials, in-process materials, waste streams, parts, supplies, equipment, and finished product
  • Stages and delivers materials to and from processing, storage, and warehouse locations
  • Weighs materials, creates labels, and maintains required records
  • Inspects incoming materials and supplier shipments, verifies quantities and identity against reference documentation, and reports damage to management
  • Interacts with web-based database system for inventory tracking/recording and shipment generation
  • Responsible for all housekeeping activities within the plant, including trash removal and recyclables collection
  • Performs general labor to support manufacturing and warehouse operations; flexible to rotate 4x7 shifts and back-fill for other utility specialists
  • Assists in training other utility specialists and participates in updating procedures and safety procedures
  • Follows all required safety procedures
  • Manual material handling up to 50 lbs; frequent stairs climbing; load/unload tankers
  • Complies with Foreign Trade Zone regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year prior warehouse and forklift/tow motor experience; trained and qualified for operation of motorized walking-stackers and forklift strongly preferred
  • Experience entering and retrieving data from database systems; MS Outlook, Word, and Excel proficiency
  • Ability to balance priorities and manage multiple assignments; works well with general direction in a team environment
  • Able to use weigh scales and perform basic arithmetic calculations without errors
  • Must be able to work in a people-oriented, safety-conscious production environment; adapt to changing processes and tools
  • Able to work under various environmental exposures (chemicals, dust, odors, noise, heat/cold, vibration, indoors/outdoors, wet/slippery surfaces, mechanical, electrical)

  • Trained and qualified for operation of motorized walking-stackers and forklifts

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $21.00 per hour; on-site with rotating 4x7 shifts
