About the Role

The City of Bothell is hiring a Utility Billing Program Specialist to manage utility billing operations, provide exceptional customer service to city departments and the public, and ensure accurate account management. This full-time, limited-term role supports accurate billing, payment processing, and account maintenance.

What You'll Do

  • Provide exceptional customer service to city departments and the public by resolving accounting and utility billing inquiries and explaining policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Process utility payments from online, phone, bank files, and in-person channels, ensuring accurate and timely posting.
  • Maintain utility billing records, research account discrepancies, and process customer account updates and change orders.
  • Prepare and manage customer-related files, reports, and records, including senior discounts, rates, usage data, and other billing information.
  • Perform data entry, data retrieval, and routine computer system operations to support billing and accounting functions.
  • Respond to escrow closing requests and process final utility billings in compliance with state regulations.
