Upper Primary School Teacher
Job Description We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and experienced Primary School Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, fostering a positive learning environment, and supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of pupils.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the school’s curriculum.
- Assess pupils’ learning and maintain accurate academic records.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively and encourage positive discipline.
- Prepare lesson notes, schemes of work, and instructional materials.
- Identify and support pupils with varying learning needs.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding pupils’ progress.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities.
- Ensure the welfare and safety of all pupils under your care.
- Carry out other teaching and administrative duties as assigned by the school management.
Requirements
- Minimum of an NCE, B.Ed., B.Sc. (Ed.), or equivalent qualification in Education or a related field.
- At least 1 year of teaching experience in a primary school.
- Strong knowledge of the Nigerian curriculum.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
- Passion for teaching and child development.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic computer literacy is an added advantage.
