Unreal Generalist / Animation Specialist (Cinematics)

Gaijin develops AAA-grade online games for PC, consoles, and mobile platforms, including the popular MMO War Thunder, Enlisted, and other games. We are looking for an experienced Unreal Generalist / Animation Specialist (Cinematics) to join our team and create animation for trailers and in-game cinematics for War Thunder and other Gaijin projects. You will work closely with our Video Artist, taking full ownership of animation tasks, from raw mocap data to final polished shots in Unreal Engine.

What you'll be doing:

• Clean and process optical motion capture data (OptiTrack) in MotionBuilder
• Retarget mocap animation onto project characters
• Polish body and facial animation to production quality
• Create facial animation using MetaHuman Animator
• Assemble, set up, and refine cinematic scenes in Unreal Engine Sequencer
• Deliver animation for trailers, promo videos, and in-game cinematics within agreed deadlines

Requirements

• Intermediate or expert level in MotionBuilder (expert preferred): mocap cleanup, retargeting, animation polishing

• Hands-on experience with optical mocap data, ideally OptiTrack

• Solid working knowledge of Unreal Engine, especially Sequencer

• Experience with MetaHuman Animator for facial animation

• A portfolio or showreel with cinematic or in-game animation work

• Ability to work independently: find solutions on your own, plan your workload, and consistently meet deadlines

• Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of Control Rig in Unreal Engine

• Basic knowledge of Blueprints

• Experience as an in-game cinematic artist

• Interest in military vehicles and aviation

• Experience with 3ds Max
