About this role
A part-time University Preparation Art Teacher is sought for EF Language Abroad in Oxford, United Kingdom. The role starts in September 2026 and involves delivering Art classes to UP students (AS/A-Level, KS3/KS4) on-site at EF’s Oxford campus, located near Oxford Brookes University. The position offers up to 20 hours of class time per week (6 hours 40 minutes minimum), depending on qualifications and other duties.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Art classes to University Preparation students
- Where qualifications/experience allow, teach other specialist modules (for example, English for Academic Purposes, Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methods)
- Plan and prepare lessons using EF’s curriculum and blended learning approach
- Track student attendance, assess progress, and provide regular feedback
- Facilitate testing and maintain academic records
- Participate in teacher briefings, staff meetings, and professional development sessions
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative academic team environment
- Support students in achieving their learning goals through tutorials and guidance
Requirements
- Hold a BA or MA in a subject relevant to Art
- Teaching or tutoring experience in any setting
- TEFL/CELTA qualification is desirable but not essential
- Passionate, professional, dynamic, enthusiastic and flexible; highly motivated, proactive, and positive with initiative
- Keen interest in up-to-date teaching methodology and a strong desire to develop teaching skills
- Ability to foster a positive and collaborative attitude in the classroom and in professional matters
- Sensitivity to students’ academic and welfare needs
- Right to work in the UK at commencement of employment
- Clean background check and two references
- Candidates must be prepared for Enhanced DBS checks and other suitability checks prior to confirmation of appointment
