Job Title: University Librarian
Location: Malete, Kwara
Duties
- The University Librarian is a Principal Officer of the University responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the administration of the University Library and coordination of all Library services in the University (the Main Library and in Libraries across all campuses of the University).
- As an Academic Staff, the University Librarian will be required to provide both academic and administrative leadership to staff in the University Library.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess:

A good honours degree from a recognised university with minimum of Master Degree in Library Science.

Possession of a Doctorate Degree will be an added advantage

At least twenty-four (24) scholarly publications in reputable journals

At least fifteen (15) years cognate experience in a recognised University, five (5) of which must be as a Deputy University Librarian or be at least an Associate Professor of Library Science

A clear understanding of the roles and nature of a University Library in the new global century.

Applicants must be Information and Communication Technology (ICT) compliant

A command of respect and ability to provide leadership and offer appropriate advice on matters affecting the University.

Tenure

The successful candidate shall hold office for a term of five years with eligibility for reappointment for a second term of five (5) years only.

Remuneration
-
The University Librarian will be entitled to the salary and other conditions of service as applicable to the position in a Nigerian public university as may be approved by the Governing Council of the Kwara State University, Malete.
