The University Librarian is a Principal Officer responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day effective management and coordination of library services in the University.

Qualifications and Experience

• The candidate must possess a PhD in Library Science/Library and Information Science, at least fifteen (15) years cognate experience, and must be at least a Deputy Librarian/Associate Professor in a recognized University. Relevant experience in a University Library is an added advantage. The candidate must possess an NYSC Discharge Certificate, Exemption Certificate, or Certificate of Exemption. The candidate must possess good leadership qualities and be a resourceful manager of human and material resources. Evidence of registration with the Library Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN). Evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals and the ability to initiate, undertake, and supervise research, alongside professional and administrative experience.
• Age, Health & Condition of Service: Age must not be more than sixty-five (65) years at the time of appointment. Health: Must enjoy good health to be able to endure the duties. Condition of Service: Single term of five (5) years.
• Remuneration: Attracts all rights and benefits of occupants of such office in the Nigerian University System.
