About the Role
Temporary University Driver role responsible for safely transporting passengers on scheduled or demand routes on campus. This temporary position supports university transportation needs and ensures passenger safety and vehicle readiness.
What You'll Do
- Operate vehicle/van safely and efficiently according to routes and requests
- Follow regularly scheduled routes, charter routes, or unscheduled requests from Transportation Coordinator/dispatch
- Assist passengers in boarding and exiting the vehicle
- Load and unload luggage and other items
- Report vehicle accidents or safety concerns to dispatch immediately
- Inspect exterior and interior of vehicle before each shift for proper operation and safety features
- Ensure inside and outside of vehicle are clean and fueled; keep interior neat
- Monitor vehicle condition, record malfunctions or damage, and submit work orders
- Complete driver trip sheet with driver name, vehicle number, passengers, times, mileages, fares, destinations, etc.
- Record passenger name and university ID number
- Provide courteous, professional customer service
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- This is a temporary position with pay rate noted
What We're Looking For
- Must be 21 years of age or older; must meet university requirements for driving a university vehicle
- Valid Driver’s License (CDL preferred) with no convictions or at-fault accidents, DWAI/DWI/DUI within the last year
- Work experience in driving or related position preferred
Nice to Have
- Prior professional driving experience
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: Hourly, $15.50 per hour (posted as $15/hour in some sections)
