UNIT MANAGER: SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT (DEMAND & ACQUISITION)

The above-mentioned position is available in the Finance department at Robben Island Museum. The purpose of this position is to manage the Demand & Acquisition function within the Supply Chain Management Department of Robben Island Museum (RIM), ensuring that adequate and proper procurement planning, sourcing and acquisition processes, policies, controls and prescripts are implemented across the organisation.

Key performance areas:

• Collating demand management information, compiling of demand management plans
• Benchmarking, market research and best practices to ensure adequate and relevant specifications
• Performing industry analysis and market analysis on a regular basis
• Ensuring adequate and proper specification development processes for RIM
• Monitoring the development of specifications and the subsequent formulation of deliverables and outputs by the line functions
• Develop timeframes linked to project plans and deliverables of projects tracking procurement project, identifying challenges and ensuring the effective finalizing of projects
• Ensuring that the correct acquisitioning process is adhere to
• Manage tender and procurement process: Drive the implementation of the Procurement Plan. Source tender specifications from components and units and publish tenders.
• Oversee the compilation of tender documents. Oversee allocation of tender numbers, advert dates and closing dates.
• Oversee the scheduling of the advertisement for close and open of tenders. Oversee the publishing tenders
• Oversee placing of publishing for tenders on e-Tender and other media when applicable.

• Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) or equivalent qualification, preferably in Public Procurement, Logistics Management, Cost Management Accounting, Supply Chain or Business Management
• Postgraduate Degree (Honours) will be an added advantage
• Minimum of 5 years practical experience in supply chain of which 3 Years is in supervisory/ junior management level.
• Proven ability to manage, train, coach, develop and motivate staff.
• Application of internal controls, Ability to manage and identify procurement and financial risks
• Excellent understanding and interpretation of supply chain management practice notes, prescriptions and guidelines from National Treasury and Department of Arts and culture.
