Job title: Union Organizers-in-Training
About the Role UFCW Local 3000 is seeking individuals for its Organizer-in-Training program across Washington and North Idaho. The program combines classroom instruction, mentorship, and field placement to develop worker organizers who can build worker-led committees and challenge corporate power.
What You'll Do
- Receive comprehensive training from UFCW 3000 and the Inside Organizer School, including history, theory, and tactics.
- Participate in ongoing mentorship, training, and support throughout the program.
- Complete a field placement on an active organizing campaign to develop practical organizing skills.
- Learn to organize workers to stand up for their rights and to maintain motivation in the struggle for social justice.
- Build worker-led committees and help develop strategic campaigns aimed at changing the balance of power.
- Take on corporate power in essential industries as part of a larger organizing effort.
- Be flexible and dedicated; start date is flexible.
